Where can I find and hunt for the real Italian Truffles?
The Answer:  The Peligna Valley in the region of Abruzzo!

Truffle hunters roam the mountains with their trusty dogs to sniff out the ripe lumpy fungus one at a time as they have for centuries.  Truffles grow wild underground at the base of an oak or birch tree.  It is the Italian red soil and rainy summers that produce the rich earthy flavor.

Stay with us at La Rocca Mia House B&B and we will escort you to our favorite Truffle Hunters, cook authentic Abruzzese meals with truffles and visit the local medieval villages.
